About 14 members of the Wheelers including our newest member Rob Brown who joined Richard Buss and his team of Alpinists who took part in preparation for the Alps in June, along with other Wheelers taking part for the fun of it.
Apparently it was a great day with some very hard climbs including Whittington Hill at the end, there were some great achievements from Graeme Bishop and Lee Bagwell, with Graeme getting KOM (King of the Mountain) and both setting incredible times, although the roads were wet to start the ride was dry, it was quite a bit tougher than the WHC, some of the climbs as bad as Spring Hill in Ramsbury with the one in Elkstone the worst, what a stinker.
There was fun and pain along the way with Sue Smith leading at one point (at the beginning) and to top it off, when asked for comments about the race the great Matt Elwick, quoted “It was Hilly, job done”, what more could you say about it all.
