The Annual Club BBQ – One More Burger

A fantastic BBQ and games at Coate Water, we had total privacy and could park in the field (only something we found out when we got there) and once everyone managed to find the place (something to work on next year), the BBQ started in full swing.

Approximately 56 Wheelers including there families attended, and the BBQ consisted of some fantastic burgers and sausages including buns, a choice of salads and potatoes and a complementary drink (beer or coke), all the drinks were in cool containers filled with ice and was laid out under the club gazebo.

Some chairs were provided and some bought there own, as always it is advisable to bring your own chairs if you want to be comfortable, but luckily it was dry so sitting on the grass wasn’t a problem.

It was nice to see Krzysztof, who is recovering from his injuries and his son who spent the afternoon there.

The Tug of War

Once the BBQ was nearly completed the festival of fun started, the first event was the Tug of War but there weren’t many volunteers until someone suggest the Tempos V the Grupettos, Novas and Rouleurs (and some of Matt’s Family), the Tempos won only because we had Matt with his broken arm and Chris was trying to drink his beer at the same time.

Jenga

The Jenga blocks created some fun and was enjoyed by those with patience.

The Beat the Buzzer Game

This generated quite a bit of suspense and laughter, with Craig and Romain along with Carloyn for the ladies getting along the furthest, no one actually completed it, that may have been by the time we started it a little bit of drink had been consumed.

Connect Four

Not many people played this game as I think they were all beaten by Tony and Yvonne’s grandson Charlie.

The club would like to thank Mandy who did all the hard work in planning and organising the BBQ with help from Howie, April, Sue D, Dawn, Bev and of course Mr C, Ali (Tables & Gazebo), BBQ -Steve D, Steve M and Simon C (the Pitmasters (apparently) and everyone who helped with all the setup, the food and clearing up at the end. Thank you all.
