If you’re considering joining us for the first time, it may help to explain what motivates our club. We’re here to support anyone who wants to take up cycling more seriously or progress to the next level. We understand that choosing the right club matters, so hope this gives you a clearer idea of who we are before you decide whether to join.
Think of us primarily as a road cycling club. Whilst we also enjoy triathlon, time trials, cyclocross and mountain biking, our social passion is very much for the black stuff – tarmac and coffee! Take a look at our Cycling with the Club page for details of ride speeds and distances.
Our membership offers excellent value.
Individual annual membership is just £20, with other options also available, you’ll enjoy all of the following benefits:
- Weekly led rides for all abilities.

Youth Membership
The Club is pleased to continue developing its support for young riders. Building on the success of the Peloteens initiative, led by Paul Ashman, Swindon Wheelers offers membership to riders aged 10 to 15 through its established Youth section.
Our Youth membership category aligns with British Cycling’s age-group structure and sits alongside our existing Junior membership, which remains unchanged. Youth membership is available at an affordable £5, plus a £1 British Cycling administration fee.
As part of the ongoing programme, a monthly Youth group ride to a local café takes place on the first Saturday of each month, led by Paul.
We would like to welcome volunteers to join and support these rides as Youth membership grows. If you are interested in getting involved, please see the “Youth Zone” Page for contact details or contact the Membership Secretary, see details below.
For a safe and enjoyable experience, parental consent and a pre-ride assessment will be required.
We look forward to welcoming the next generation of enthusiastic cyclists to Swindon Wheelers.
