Chris Broad-Drake – Celebration Ride

Many of you may know our dear friend on and off the bike and club member of Swindon Road Club (SRC) of many years and a great supporter of Latton TT, Chris Broad-Drake, is valiantly battling cancer, and putting up a hell of a fight, this has been a huge journey for him but most importantly it has taken him away from the sport that he and we all love.

Swindon Road Club with Chris’s backing, had decided to have a celebration ride to recognise all that he’s done and achieved by bringing all cyclists in the region who know him together.

This was held on the 1st of November 2025 at Chedworth village hall, courtesy of SRC with Tea, Coffee and Cake provided. Chris joined us there, and had a great natter over his and our favourite memories, just don’t mention his infamous navigation skills, however he did know how to get to Chedworth farm shop with his eyes closed!

Thank you to Swindon Wheelers, Cheltenham & County Cycling Club and everyone else who came along to the celebration event for Chris Broad-Drake the numbers surpassed all expectations with approximately 200 folk joining the celebration.

It was truly a wonderful morning, and I know Chris was immensely touched by the outpouring of love and care.

Donations

Swindon Road Club collectively raised a whopping £904.50 in cash donations on the day for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
